GunHealth.org (GHO) is committed to the belief that gun injury in the United States is a health epidemic and that a public health approach of science, prevention, and collaboration is a means to eradicating gun injury. GHO promotes a science-based approach by collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the private sector, academics, and individual citizens to increase awareness and action.

The public health approach has been used to successfully eradicate diseases, reduce smoking-related deaths, and decrease car crashes. GHO believes in this same approach to prevent gun injury in all its forms and strive towards a society where everyone can live a healthier life, free from gun injury.
